Locate within you the brazen bull and pull. Grip like you've never gripped before. Yank like you mean it. It is here; it is now. You've seen the vision -- even if it was just a glimpse. You will potentially read this in 5, 10, 20 years. As always, the question is: What will he think? Success is whatever. That's not the goal. Who really cares, after all? Will you even try? That is much more important. It is much more indicative of who you are, whether you mean what you say, whether you are a man of action, etc.
I trust you. You know what to do. But growing up is a conscious choice and it requires these changes. Additional commitment, additional responsibility. Many problems have an annoying tendancy not to resolve themselves. That is where and when the adults come in. Or, at least, that's how it should be. Over the course of time, if someone's life has problems that aren't getting better it is likely that they aren't behaving like an adult about a thing or two. At the individual level, there are so many caveats that it isn't worth listing them. However, I have truly come to believe this as a general principle. We only have a small network in this life we can even partly control - mostly ourselves - and we must take care appropriately because it's much harder for anyone else to come in for the rescue. Even, and especially, if they want to.
At the political level, clashing human visions and motivations make the above unclear principle even less clear. But one can see the same idea poke through from time to time. An administrative body with sufficient resources (financial, human, etc.) unable to improve its maladies is only increasingly exposing its lack of will and, ultimately, its immaturity. Political problems are fucking hard -- this is granted. But hindsight can usually tell who was there to pose and who was there to play.
